Aim: To make Worthing’s streets safer and more pleasant for everyone

How?: Easy! In one simple step:

Introducing 20mph speed limits on all residential roads. Main arterial roads wouldn’t be included. No cameras, no speed humps, just the people of Worthing agreeing to make their town a safer, more pleasant place for everyone.

Why?: Research shows that reducing traffic speeds to 20mph is one of the most effective ways of making our roads safer for children, older people, those with disabilities, pedestrians and cyclists. In areas where this has been done, deaths and serious injuries have been reduced by as much as 70%.
